Job Description
Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Location: Apopka FL
Pay Rate: $25 $30/hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy construction equipment to ensure peak performance and minimal downtime on job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical hydraulic and electrical issues on equipment such as excavators bulldozers loaders graders skid steers and cranes.
- Perform routine inspections preventive maintenance and servicing to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions both in the shop and on construction sites.
- Maintain accurate service records maintenance logs and repair documentation.
- Order and install replacement parts; manage inventory of tools and supplies.
- Follow all company safety policies and comply with OSHA regulations.
- Work closely with equipment operators and site supervisors to prioritize repairs.
- Operate equipment for testing and verification after repairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver s license with a clean driving record.
- Own toolbox with necessary mechanic tools.
- 3 5 years of recent experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Reliable safety-conscious and able to work independently or as part of a team.
