Job Description
A maintenance technician isresponsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repairing mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems within a facility ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely by identifying issues ordering necessary parts and completing repairs in a timely manner;often including emergency response to urgent breakdowns.
Responsibilities
Preventative maintenance:
Regularly inspecting and servicing equipment according to scheduled maintenance plans including lubrication cleaning and component replacements.
- Troubleshooting and repair:
Diagnosing malfunctions in equipment identifying root causes and performing repairs to restore functionality.
- Emergency response:
Responding to urgent equipment failures outside of regular working hours to minimize downtime.
- Parts management:
Maintaining inventory of common replacement parts and ordering new parts as needed.
- Documentation:
Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities repairs and equipment conditions.
- Safety compliance:
Adhering to safety procedures and regulations when performing maintenance
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
Technical knowledge:Proficient in mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Troubleshooting skills:Ability to diagnose equipment issues and identify solutions effectively.
Hand tools proficiency:Skillful use of various hand tools and power tools.
-Basic computer skills:Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) to log work orders and track equipment history.
- Problem-solving abilities:Capability to analyze situations identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Physical ability:Ability to lift heavy objects climb ladders and work in confinedspaces.
- Forklift certified (will train and certify)
-Welding Fabrication and some electrical experience preferred
