Main position objectives

Operate vacuum furnaces to braze materials used in die plate manufacturing.

Position description Tasks responsibilities competencies

• Efficiently manage the flow of jobs in and out of the brazing department.
• Coordinate with other operations to prioritize jobs.
• Program the furnaces for part specific processes.
• Optimize the capacity of brazing furnaces.
• Select materials used to build dies to print specifications.
• Manage inventory of department supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance on vacuum furnaces.
• Inspect dies before and after brazing.
• Practice Lean manufacturing and 5S in the work area.

The incumbent considers all interests of quality accident prevention and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people facilities assets material and environment actively.

Work Environment

Work in this position is in a shop floor environment. While performing the duties of this job the use of acetone is a daily requirement. All proper PPE is required to perform this job.

Physical Requirements

This job requires excellent hand eye coordination in the precise placement of components used in the brazing process of die building.

Extended periods of time sitting while placing components during die build.

The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
