Responsible for evaluation and intervention of referred patients in an identified specialty area as well as participation in the development and implementation of that specialty. Serves as consultant to staff in case management of patients within that specialty area. Reports to the Therapy Manager (Inpatient/Acute) or the Professional Practice Manager (Outpatient and Sports Therapy areas). This is generally a permanent position within a clinical and/or administrative specialty.
initial examinations establishes appropriate goals plans and implements treatment interventions performs timely re-examinations and modifies goals and treatment interventions accordingly. Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated.
responsibility for all documentation requirements in a timely manner i.e. initial examinations progress notes monthly summaries and discharge summaries.
training to families or care partners and medical personnel as indicated.
appropriate durable medical equipment in coordination with appropriate team members. Writes letters of medical necessity when indicated.
in discharge planning makes recommendations for continued physical therapy and provides home exercise programs when appropriate.
all appropriate conferences rounds in-services and meetings.
be assigned additional patients in the event that coverage is necessary as dictated by staffing needs.
clinics as assigned.
therapy attendance records patient charges and statistics.
in the supervision of Rehab Patient Care Associates volunteers and students.
be a current member of the APTA.
follow all MSH policies and procedures.
an in-service to the Rehabilitation Department annually
as a clinical instructor to students and participates in student lecture development.
a minimum of two conferences annually.
in research as opportunities permit.
as a resource for coverage and assists the Therapy Manager or Professional Practice Manger in operational planning.
productivity expectations specific to each service.
considered as a primary resource person for coverage and therefore expected to carry an increased caseload at times.
as a representative in interdepartmental meetings throughout the hospital.
NYS PT License. BCLS and PALS and 5 years of related experience with Pediatric Patient Population
