Job Description
Location: Reid Clinic JBSA - Lackland Air Force Base Texas 78236
Work Schedule: Monday Friday betweennot to exceed 40 hours/week
Qualifications:- Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of practical or vocational nursing experience in clinic lab or immunizations. Must have strong computer skills.
- License/Certification:
- Current full active and unrestricted license as a practical (LPN) or vocational nurse (LVN) in any U.S. jurisdiction
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen
- Administer immunizations and perform phlebotomy services
- Support trainee health processing for up to 900 individuals weekly
- Assist with clinical nursing coverage during staff absences (illness leave deployment)
- Recognize and respond to urgent/emergent patient care situations
- Initiate emergency interventions as directed by RN or physician
- Ensure compliance with MTF clinical care standards and protocols
- Document nursing care in electronic and written medical records
- Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Contribute to quality and cost-effective clinical outcomes
- Perform procedures (e.g. oxygen admin EKGs splinting ear/eye irrigation)
- Maintain and clean medical equipment at end of shift
- Participate in onboarding and training new personnel
- Support research and quality improvement initiatives
- Educate patients and families on preventive care and self-management
- Administer medications via multiple routes per established protocols
