Job Description
Gilead Sciences is a biopharmaceutical company that discovers develops and commercializes innovative therapeutics in areas of unmet medical need. Gilead Sciences Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager of U.S. International Tax to join our tax team. This role will be the go-to person for all U.S. international tax matters including compliance reporting and planning. This role will work closely with other members of the tax department business partners and external advisors. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in U.S. international tax rules including Subchapter C restructuring as well as a strong understanding of global tax developments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and review all aspects of the international tax components of the U.S. income tax return including workpapers and forms related to E&P Subpart F GILTI FDII FTC and BEAT
Manage and review all international tax aspects of the quarterly worldwide provision
Manage and review intercompany charges for adherence to Gileads transfer pricing policies
Manage and review public tax disclosures including Country-by-Country Reporting and the Global Reporting Initiative
Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice for cross-border transactions M&A and business expansions
Validate and contextualize tax data points with business operations
Support U.S. tax controversy efforts
Support tax process improvement initiatives
Support and manage ad hoc projects as needed
Basic Qualifications:
8 years of relevant experience with a BA/BS Degree in Accounting or 6 years of experience with a masters degree
MS Degree in Tax or a CPA is preferred
Prior international tax experience required
Proven project management skills including managing and prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects
Preferred Qualifications:
A mix of experience between Public Accounting and Corporate Tax at a publicly traded multinational life sciences company is strongly preferred
Effective communication to various stakeholders such as other Tax Department members non-tax business partners and outside service providers
Experience with Microsoft Suite Bloomberg Tax Alteryx OneSource and SAP preferred
