We are expanding at warp speed and are adding to our team from our sales office and shop floor locations to our remote online team members. We are a diverse creative and passionate crew who is always looking to discover and implement fresh innovative ideas and make some pretty amazing things.
JOB SUMMARY
Assist in manual and machine tasks in make-ready maintenance and operation of heat set press to provide a quality product which meets customer quality and time requirements while meeting company profitability requirements.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Press Operator and other crew members in the daily printing operations.
Assist in the operation and maintenance of the press.
Follow the production schedule for the printing of jobs.
Review job bags to obtain correct paper requirements.
Have Press Operator initial roll report that the stock matches job ticket.
Prepare and load paper in to splicer for use.
Check signatures being produced for correct pagination bleed tolerances and any other potential quality issues.
Continuously monitor and maintain quality ensure customer requirements are met.
Separate white versus Newsprint or Ground wood in boxes for bailer department.
Fill out required information on paper reports including weights for any damage.
Fill in required information in the press communication log book.
Clean and maintain equipment on daily basis and during scheduled maintenance.
Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Post high school graphic arts training preferred.
Preferred Skills
Ensure crew is adhering to all applicable safety standards.
Must be reliable and consistently at work and on time
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
Must have positive and effective communication with other team members
Safety and Quality minded
Should be able to work with minimal supervision and be an individual contributor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Normal no adverse or hazardous conditions. Warehouse and plant with exposure to dust noise and fumes.
The ability to sit for extended periods of time. To experience periods of prolonged sitting to regularly stand walk carry climb reach and lift up to 25 lbs.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate
Ability to use a computer keyboard mouse calculator and other devices associated with office work.
Overtime may be required in meet project deadlines.
Physically able to participate in training sessions presentations and meetings.
