Position Available: August 2025

Position Purpose
St. Joseph School nurturing Catholic school dedicated to academic excellence and faith formation is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Resource Teacher to support students in grades K8 in the areas of reading and math. The ideal candidate will be experienced in delivering targeted interventions familiar with the Wilson Reading System and committed to meeting the diverse learning needs of students in a faith-filled environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide small group and one-on-one academic support to students in grades K8 focusing on reading and math
Implement research-based intervention strategies including the Wilson Reading System and other structured literacy approaches
Assess students academic strengths and needs and use data to inform instructional planning
Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction and provide strategies for student success
Monitor and document student progress and communicate regularly with teachers parents and administration
Support the development and implementation of Student Support Plans (SSPs) accommodations and modifications as needed
Uphold and model the mission and values of Catholic education in all interactions with students and the school community

Physical abilities that are commonly associated with the performance of this job
While performing the duties of this job the employee may frequently be required to sit stand walk talk hear see feel with hands reach with arms walk up or down multiple flights of stairs and be physically able to perform duties as assigned including the ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds if needed.

Works in standard office and school building environments but also has ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.

Salary Range to be determined at the local school ($24.00-$28.00 PT unbenefitted)

Final salary will be determined by relevant years of experience in a similar job combined with education and professional licensure.

Official Transcripts showing proof of masters degree or higher
Show proof of internship experience of at least 600 contact hours in a school setting and 400 hours of field experience supervised by a field instructor holding a masters or higher degree in social work.
Educator Licensure: Current Illinois Professional Educator Licensure (PEL) endorsed as a School Social Worker.
