Counter Manager

Hybrid Position. Will require travel to different branch locations.

WHAT YOULL DO:

The Counter Sales Manager serves as the leader for all Steiner Electrics will call locations. The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to all counter operations personnel and counter sales. This position will ensure compliance with sales policies procedures customer service safety quality systems and other regulatory requirements in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage all will call branch activities to achieve company goals.
  • Increase productivity by developing continuous improvements and sharing best practices with team members.
  • Analyze existing Will Call procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Identify and hire appropriate resources to manage workloads and improve quality by training and motivating employees introducing lean techniques and effectively controlling processes.
  • Oversee all daily Will Call branch operations and assist where needed.
  • Maintain and encourage positive attitude and professionalism always.
  • Interact with vendors to initiate new product lines and maintain inventory levels.
  • Schedule vendor trainings with key vendors.
  • Manage and control counter expenses.
  • Ensure safety and compliance through continuous training and education.
  • Execute assigned projects and provide updates to management.
  • Plan and conduct relevant weekly team meetings / communications.
  • Conduct individual performance reviews with Sr. Director of Inside Sales and Integrated Sales.
  • Cooperate with all areas of our company to accomplish Steiners strategic goals.

Work with Counter Leads:

  • Ensure outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain track and suggest new methods of merchandising daily.
  • Maintain appearance of Will Call Counter always.
  • Coordinate daily work schedule including Saturdays and manage PTO.
  • To implement training program for new and existing employees. Monitor and measure results as required according to training module.
  • Participate in coaching of employees.
  • Respond to other company department requests or needs in timely manner.
  • Engage with customers to create an exceptional customer experience.

WHAT YOULL NEED:

  • Five plus years electrical counter sales experience and/or electrical product experience that would be applicable to counter sales.
  • Management experience in a leadership role in industrial distribution including knowledge of transportation and warehousing.
  • Success in leading and managing teams; including managing subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise employees.
  • Experience in core people management processes including coaching hiring performance management progressive discipline issue resolution and effective teaming.
  • Success in driving organization change and process improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel.
  • Computer literate (can open/close operating system; access programs by log in; navigate through screen fields; use function keys; type).

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions of this Position:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces.
  • Acceptable grooming and dress for the position
  • Pushing and pulling fully loaded manual cart with a 40 lb. load.
  • Walking the length of the warehouse 3-4 times during the day.
  • Bending and twisting motions required.
