Job Title: Assistant Baseball Coach & Camp Coordinator (Part-time)

Reporting Relationship: Head Baseball Coach

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Intercollegiate Athletics-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Recreation & Wellness Center Marion IN

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Baseball Coach with all aspects of the baseball program including but not limited to player development practice and game management recruitment scouting and scouting reports program administrative duties travel and camp coordination
• This individual will also contribute to the personal professional and spiritual growth of each player to coincide and meet the overall mission of IWU and the IWU Baseball program
• Ensure strict adherence to all NAIA by-laws and regulations
• Ensure adherence with established institutional compliance rules policies and procedures as well as ethical standards of behavior
• Ensure the spiritual physical emotional and social welfare of student-athletes
• Ensure satisfactory academic performance of student-athletes
• Responsible for successful coaching to include maximizing the teams potential/abilities keeping athletes eligible supporting the spiritual development of each player and retaining athletes through graduation
• Learn understand and adhere to all NAIA rules
• Assist to propagate a comprehensive public relations program
• Assist the operations of sport camps and/or clinics
• Assist in coordinating and developing organized schedules
• Assist in planning and implementing daily practice sessions

Education

• Bachelors Degree required

Experience

• Need to be gifted in supervising and motivating others.
• Must be creative and innovative discerning and a thorough planner.
• Must subscribe to the principles and lifestyle of the Wesleyan Church.

Required Skills

• Must demonstrate a mature and expressive Christian faith commitment.
• Needs to passionately support and articulate the University mission and vision for athletics within the context of that mission.
