The responsibilities of a NICU nurse include caring for infants basic needs such as diaper changes and feeding and coordinating the infants medical treatments with the NICU physician. The NICU nurse also offers comfort and support to premature and ill newborns and their parents and family high-risk for sick and premature doctor-recommended treatment newborns and records their symptoms and parents and answers questions about their babys with nurses and doctors to provide quality patient parents bathe feed diaper and hold their newborn when medical equipment including incubators feeding tubes and oxygen neonatology guidelines regulations and to hospital policies and calmly and carefully in fast-paced and high-stress exceptional patient care and is detail-oriented and effectively speaking multiple languages is with nurses and doctors and has strong interpersonal -solves well independently and as part of a strong relationships with parents and has a stellar bedside manner
