About the Position:

Reports to: Service Manager
Purpose:
The Technology Technician is responsible for servicing setting up repairing and troubleshooting the advanced technology in John Deere agricultural equipment. This role ensures that all technological components are functioning optimally to enhance the productivity and efficiency of customer operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide training and support to customers on the use and maintenance of technology systems.
- Deliver preseason technology setup services
- Provide prompt and effective solutions for customers experiencing issues with technology systems.
- Maintain professional communication with customers addressing their needs and concerns.
- Support and train new salespeople on technology features and product demonstrations.
- Provide hands-on field training for technicians at various locations.
- Collaborate with other service technicians and staff to share knowledge and best practices.
- Perform diagnostics troubleshooting and repair of equipment technology systems.
- Conduct regular software updates system activations and move MTG devices as required.
- Set up and configure new technology equipment ensuring optimal performance.
- Participate in the Gooseneck Technical Assistance Center (GTAC) call rotation for technology troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with other stores to ensure smooth and timely tech support.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in precision agriculture technology.
- Ensure accurate billing through service department work orders (WOs) including customer billable hours.
- Maintain accurate records of service work performed and parts used.
- Maintain a 70% labor performance standard with 90% productivity goal met or higher.
- Report regularly to the Service Manager on service activities and customer interactions.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in troubleshooting diagnosing and repairing technology systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts
- Familiarity with John Deere equipment and software systems (preferred)
- Effective both independently and in team-based environments
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in record keeping
- Experience with training or mentoring others is preferred
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Drivers license and acceptable driving record required
- Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed
- Able to lift and move heavy equipment parts and tools
- Participation in ongoing training including winter certification programs
- Comfortable working in a variety of conditions and environments
