Job Description
Looking for an opportunity to further your career with a top ranked globally positioned firm AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our highly collaborative and motivated staff in our Roanoke VA offices Building Engineering practice. The Structural Engineer will perform the following duties.
- Assist in the preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials calculations drawings specifications reports and cost estimates related to structural systems for commercial and governmental facilities.
- Under the direction of the engineer deliver complete accurate and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations
- Work within a project team environment.
- Maintain and organize all project related documentation.
- Coordinate work with other project disciplines.
- Plan and organize work that follows a defined process.
- Work with a group of engineers and BIM technicians focused on structural and multi-discipline projects.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in civil engineering 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Passed the FE exam (Engineer-in-Training) or equivalent years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
- Revit experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 4 years of experience with an engineering firm designing structural systems for commercial and institutional facilities.
- Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Blast Resistant structural design experience.
- The ability to work with interpret and apply national and local building codes.
- Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations spreadsheets and report writing.
- Strong written communication presentation and client interface skills.
- Ability to take responsibility for given tasks with limited supervision while proactively developing standard practices and new techniques.
