NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK ANTICIPATED OPENING APPONTMENT DEPENDENT UPON SUFFICIENT ENROLLMENT RATE OF PAY: $55.00 per hour or negotiable based on experience license certifications and teaching experience Overview of the Position: This position is a part-time evening Instructor position within the Minuteman Technical Institute with an anticipated start of date of August 18th 2025 and end date of June 30th 2026 This program runs two evenings per week from 4:00-9:15 PM Mondays and Wednesdays and 7:00AM-2:00 PM on Saturdays The candidate for this position must be licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Chapter 74 Electrical Wiring instructor or have at least 5 years recent work experience with teaching experience and in process of obtaining a Chapter 74 Electrical Wiring license Applicants for this position will be expected to implement instruction with a strong focus on Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks in Electrical Wiring Compensation will be provided for planning and development of the curriculum which will be done in conjunction with the Executive Director This position is a non-bargaining unit exempt position which is not covered under the Minuteman Collective Bargaining Agreement and is not eligible for benefits Employment will be contingent upon sufficient enrollment in the Electrical Wiring program Major Responsibilities: Plan implement and periodically update a program of study based upon the Massachusetts Vocational/Technical Curriculum Frameworks that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students seeking a post-secondary experience Actively work with Program Advisory Board local business and industries and other industry experts for continuous program improvement Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of post-secondary students Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to post-secondary students Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives Assess post-secondary students on a regular basis and provide progress reports Maintain all records necessary for reporting grades performance and the documentation of post-secondary students using MTIs competency tracking system Track and maintain student classroom and work experience hours to sit for Journeymans license and sign off on hours upon program completion Counsel with colleagues and students on a regular basis Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner Prepare and/or assist in the development of a departmental budget Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct Assist the administration in implementing MTI goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the MTI Maintain the condition of classroom/shop facilities Attend staff meetings Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the Executive Director
