The Automotive Internet Sales Consultant serves as the primary point of contact for customers engaging with the dealership through online channels. This role involves managing internet-generated leads providing detailed information about vehicles scheduling appointments and guiding customers through the sales process to ensure a seamless and satisfying experience.
Lead Management & Customer Engagement
Respond promptly to internet inquiries via email phone chat and text.
Qualify leads by understanding customer needs and preferences.
Schedule appointments for vehicle demonstrations and test drives.
Follow up with customers post-appointment to address questions and encourage sales closure.
Product Knowledge & Presentation
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of dealership inventory including new and pre-owned vehicles.
Effectively communicate vehicle features benefits and financing options to customers.
Utilize digital tools to provide virtual vehicle walkarounds and demonstrations.
CRM Management & Documentation
Accurately input and update customer information and interactions in the dealerships CRM system.
Track lead status and follow up as necessary to move prospects through the sales funnel.
Generate reports on lead conversion rates and sales performance.
Collaboration & Team Support
Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition from online engagement to in-person visits.
Coordinate with marketing to align online promotions with dealership campaigns.
Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge and sales techniques.
Experience & Education
Minimum of 1 year of sales experience preferably in the automotive industry.
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree in Business or related field is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Comfortable with digital communication tools and social media platforms.
