A Fire/Hazmat and Safety Coordinator develops coordinates and maintains life safety and fire protection programs to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Also hazardous material storage removal and safety. This role involves overseeing inspections documentation and obtaining MSDS. They work with various departments within the college to create a safe environment. Reports to the Director Facilities Planning and Construction.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED education training or work experience in environmental science or management and the ability to utilize various computer programs including Microsoft Office suite. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of 435.04(2) Florida Statutes related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Environmental Management or related field and/or college degree in Environmental Science Environmental Management or another related field.
Annual Salary: $37750.00 ($19.36/hour)
