Job Summary
The Accreditation Manager spits time between the Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development divisions of MGB Education. The position works closely with the Senior Accreditation Manager GME and the Senior Program Manager of CPD and is responsible for ensuring ongoing program accreditation for Mass General Brigham-sponsored programs including facilitating all communication with the ACGME ACCME and Joint Accreditation. This position reports jointly to the Senior Program Manager CPD and Senior Accreditation Manager GME.
Essential Functions:
Serves as a content expert on GME and CPD accreditation and provides consultative services to all levels of the organization on accreditation/regulatory topics
oServes as the primary GME Office contact for assigned subset of accredited programs at specialty (Mass Eye and Ear McLean Hospital Spaulding Rehabilitation) and community (Salem Newton Wellesley) hospitals. Works closely with the VP of GME/DIO to ensure accreditation requirements are fulfilled for those programs including:
oManaging and supporting ADS annual updates annual program evaluations (APE) internal and special reviews
oManaging and supporting reporting requirements for Continuing Professional Development with the ACCME and JA
oManaging program letters of agreement
oManaging and supporting site visit preparation efforts
oEnsuring program coordinators are aware of upcoming deadlines
o Communicating with the ACGME and ensures data is provided in a timely fashion
Responsible for organizing and leading the GME Special Reviews process including:
odesign and continuous improvement of the process
oconducting and writing reports for the assigned subset of programs as well as others as needed
oensuring timely presentation at GMEC meetings as well as timely and adequacy of response to SR recommendation
Oversight and support of non-ACGME programs including:
oServing as the primary contact for program administrators for programs
oSetting the timeline for and conducting internal reviews of programs
oDrafting the internal review reports working with the applicable DIO/associate DIO to finalize the reports
Acts as lead for ensuring that the 170 Regularly Scheduled Series (RSSs) maintain accreditation standards provide reporting requirements including conflict of interest statements and support the Senior Program Manager
Acts as backup for responsibilities related to the accreditation management for the National Resident Matching Program.
Presents at coordinator workshops/retreats program director orientation and program director retreat as directed by the Senior Accreditation Manager and Senior Program Manager
Assist Senior Accreditation Manager in providing support for GMEC meetings as needed (assembling and distributing materials; managing A/V; taking minutes; etc)
Assists Senior Program Manager in providing support for CPD-related committee meetings as needed.
Assists the Senior Accreditation Manager and Senior Program Director as needed for institution-level site visits self-evaluations and reviews
Acts as a team leader for small projects or work groups as needed creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows.
Education
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required; Masters degree preferred
Experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in hospital/managed care
- 2-3 years of accreditation experience
- At least 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred
- Prior ACGME ACCME or JA accreditation knowledge and/or experience highly preferred
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledgeable with healthcare experience with accreditation readiness and regulatory agencies.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgments to make decisions within scope of job responsibilities.
