The AI startup growing faster than Canva
Thats what the Financial Review called one year we hit $15M ARR and became one of the fastest-growing companies in the world.
Two years ago we pivoted from broad healthcare AI to building Earths finest clinical exoskeleton. Today we support over 2 million patient sessions weekly across 50 countries. Hundreds of thousands of clinicians use Heidi to complete documentation.
Our mission is simple: double care capacity by eradicating non-clinically-useful busywork.
We have a track record of interns becoming core team members. Our best PMs walked in with beginners minds and wild curiosity about how the world works. If youve gone absurdly deep on something weird - whether its brain lamps medieval armor or competitive Excel - we want to meet you.
The role
Were looking for curious minds to join our product team as interns. You wont own features yet but youll work alongside our PMs on real problems that matter.
Youll analyze competitors dig into data talk to clinicians and help us understand what to build next. This isnt coffee-fetching or busy work - youll contribute to decisions that affect hundreds of thousands of users.
The best interns challenge our assumptions spot patterns we miss and ask questions that make the whole room reconsider. Some of our current PMs started exactly here.
What youll do
Work with PMs to gather and synthesize user feedback from clinicians
Run data analyses and present conclusions that challenge or confirm our hypotheses
Shadow customer calls and identify unspoken needs
Conduct deep competitor analyses
Assist in product discovery - from initial research to feature definition
Help prepare testing materials for new AI features
Ask the uncomfortable questions in meetings that need asking
If wed worked together the last 6 weeks youd have:
Interviewed 10 clinicians and found a workflow everyone else missed
Run a data analysis that killed someones pet feature (with evidence)
Gone deep on some random healthcare regulation and explained why it matters
What youll need
Currently pursuing (or have pursued) a degree (any field - weve hired philosophy majors and engineers alike)
Natural curiosity that borders on obsessive - youve gone unnecessarily deep on your interests
The confidence to disagree with senior people (and the tact to do it well)
Data comfort - you can work with spreadsheets and basic analysis without hand-holding
Writing skills that make complex things simple
The ability to see systems and patterns not just isolated problems
A weird hobby or interest you can talk about for 30 minutes straight
If you answer NO to these questions this may not be the job for you:
Are you great at spot-the-difference puzzles
Do you naturally question how things work
Can you explain complex ideas to your non-technical grandmother
Have you ever gone down a 3-hour research rabbit hole just because
Are you comfortable being wrong in public (and learning from it)
Does the prospect of re-energising our health systems make you feel fuzzy inside
Why Heidi
Our health systems hurt everybody. Systems are log-jammed clinicians lives degrade in quality and patients churn through the meat-grinder.
This is neither a special nor interesting insight.
However it means were solving a real problem. Hundreds of thousands of clinicians use Heidi. Every clinician using Heidi gets hours back in their day.
Youll join a team that doesnt celebrate fundraise milestones imaginary valuations and glossy PR. We live and breathe the pain of modern health systems and wont rest until weve exacted the change wed like to see. Were medicos engineers and designers whove felt (on every side of the equation) what non-care feels like - the toll as a provider or receiver.
The bad news is we dont care about your GPA or whether youve heard of RICE frameworks.
The good news is this isnt a typical internship. You wont be filing papers or scheduling meetings. Youll work on problems that matter - helping clinicians reclaim time to actually care for patients. Our interns become PMs.
No generic applications - send something weird interesting and impressive to alongside your application.
If the role description has scared you off it was meant to.
