Job Description
Masters-prepared clinician with significant psychiatric substance use crisis prevention or family systems therapy experience responsible for Behavioral Health and Substance Use assessments in the Emergency Department and on inpatient medical units. Coordinates with physicians staff and other healthcare providers to recommend level of patient care and arranges appropriate disposition.
Required Qualifications:
Level I:
- Masters Degree in Social Work Counseling or other behavioral health related field
- Experience must be relevant to the skills necessary to provide risk assessment engagement of patients and families and professional engagement with other department staff
- Experience in disposition and safety planning
Level II:
- Masters of Social Work or Masters in Counseling
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an LCSW or LPC with ability to practice within their profession per state guidelines
- Experience must be relevant to developing the skills necessary to provide safety risk assessment engagement of patients and families and professional engagement with other department staff
- Experience in disposition and safety planning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an emergency department dual diagnosis work knowledge of ECO/TDO system in the Commonwealth of VA
Skills:
- De-escalation Training
- Maintain licensure by completing annual CEs
- Maintain Human Rights Training
