Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compounding Manager to lead the Compounding and Sanitization departments within a fast-paced personal care contract manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring that all compounding operations are executed safely efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership technical expertise and a passion for continuous improvement to help drive operational excellence and product quality.
Salary: $100K-$120K

Key Responsibilities:
- Department Oversight: Lead daily operations of compounding sanitization and chemical room functions ensuring optimal use of personnel materials and equipment while maintaining production schedules.
- Budget Ownership: Develop and manage the compounding departments annual budget aligning expenditures with production goals and corporate financial objectives.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit train and coach team members; conduct performance evaluations; implement corrective actions as needed; and foster a culture of accountability safety and continuous learning.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with cGMP regulatory standards and internal quality systems. Maintain accurate documentation oversee corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and support deviation investigations.
- Safety & Process Efficiency: Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing OSHA standards and identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and boost productivity without compromising quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D Quality Production and Planning teams to align compounding operations with broader business objectives and new product introductions.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in initiatives focused on lean manufacturing process optimization and waste reduction.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering Materials Science or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a compounding or manufacturing role within the personal care cosmetics or OTC industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of compounding principles GMP regulations production workflows and sanitation protocols.
- Communication & Problem Solving: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead teams resolve issues and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with manufacturing ERP or industry-specific systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with formulation and batching processes specific to skincare haircare or OTC products.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
