Duties and Responsibilities
1. *Implements and manages a comprehensive preventive maintenance program in alignment with industry standards for all recreation equipment including cardiovascular and strength training equipment and outdoor sports equipment used in the outdoor class excursions.
2. *Conducts regular inspections and safety audits of the equipment and promptly troubleshoots and addresses repairs to mitigate hazards.
3. *Conducts hands-on physical maintenance tasks and repairs to cardiovascular strength and other recreational equipment which requires bending lifting kneeling climbing and working in tight spaces. Responsibilities may include disassembling and reassembling mechanical components aligning moving parts replacing cables and belts lubricating joints and calibrating electronic consoles etc.
4. *Maintains an organized inventory of common replacement parts to minimize equipment downtime.
5. *Coordinates with equipment manufacturers to obtain necessary certifications for performing maintenance and repairs.
6. *Recruits trains supervises and evaluates student Service Associates in executing the on-going equipment cleaning inspection and reporting procedures.
7. *Maintains detailed service records and repair activities and generates reports for warranty tracking capital planning and annual budgeting purposes.
8. *Identifies and procures necessary replacement parts to support timely repairs and minimize equipment downtime ensuring alignment with University procurement procedures.
9. *Coordinates with equipment manufacturers and third-party service providers to arrange warranty repairs or specialized equipment maintenance that falls outside the scope of the position.
10. *Ensures compliance with safety standards and guidelines related to equipment maintenance.
11. *In the absence of the SRS Director and Operations Coordinator provides support with responding to facility-related incidents and emergencies including equipment failures or safety concerns and implementing appropriate corrective actions or communication protocols.
12. *Works outside normally scheduled hours including evenings weekends and/or holidays as needed.
13. Schedules and performs major repairs during off-peak hours including weekends to minimize disruption to facility users.
14. Assists in providing critical analysis and solutions to project-related issues.
15. Assists in the preparation of project presentations and reporting to stakeholders.
16. Serves as an advocate for students student organizations and University departments.
17. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Facilities Management or related field and one (1) year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for equipment maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of equipment maintenance demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.
3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated with equipment maintenance.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of equipment maintenance.
5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
8. Demonstrated ability in recreational equipment maintenance and repair such as cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
9. Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures for recreational equipment such as cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
10. Knowledge of facilities maintenance.
11. Ability to work outside normally scheduled hours including evenings weekends and/or holidays as directed.
12. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds work in confined spaces and perform physically demanding tasks including bending lifting kneeling or climbing for extended periods of time independently or with assistance.
13. Familiarity with writing specifications to procure goods and services.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Supervisory or leadership experience in managing student employees who will implement equipment cleaning and minor preventive maintenance.
2. Experience in cardiovascular and strength training equipment maintenance and repair within a recreation or fitness center setting.
3. Familiarity with facility management software and computerized maintenance management systems.
4. Experience managing an inventory system for replacement parts.
5. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical individuals.
6. Certified in or willing to obtain manufacturer certifications for equipment maintenance.
7. Experience drafting and developing specifications for procuring goods and services.
