Essential Qualifications

• Previous Caregiving Experience: Personal or professional experience in caregiving is a plus.
• Empathy and Compassion:A deep understanding and sensitivity to the emotional and physical needs of the person being cared for with a genuine desire to improve their quality of life.
• Patience:The ability to remain calm understanding and tolerant especially in challenging or repetitive situations.
• Attention to Detail: Observant and able to notice any changes in the health or well-being of the individual.
• Communication Skills:Effective clear and compassionate communication to ensure the person being cared for feels understood and to provide updates to family members when necessary.
• Problem-Solving Abilities:Quick thinking and the ability to adapt to changing situations often needing to find solutions independently.
• Time Management:Capable of organizing and completing caregiving tasks efficiently.
• English Communication:Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally (in person and on the phone) and in writing.
• Respect and Dignity:Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations.
• Travel Ability:Ability to travel at least 15 miles one way to an assignment.
• Willingness to consent to client safety devices that may include recording devices.

Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional support and companionshipto clients fostering a warm and engaging environment.
• Assist with mobility and transfers including the use of assistive devices when needed.
• Remind and assist with medication managementas per the care plan (following state regulations).
• Engage clients in meaningful activitiessuch as conversation light exercise hobbies and cognitive stimulation.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments errands or social outings ensuring safe transportation and support.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including laundry dish washing and tidying up to promote a comfortable home environment.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Observe and report changes in physical emotional or cognitive healthto supervisors or family members as necessary.
• Respect client dignity and promote independencewhile assisting with personal care and daily routines.
