Position Summary The Government Packaging Specialist is a critical part of our supply chain team ensuring that every item we ship meets strict government packaging standards and contract requirements. Youll be responsible for packaging items with care consistency and compliance knowing that your work helps support our Navy shipbuilders on the ground and missions around the world. This is a highly detail-oriented role ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things the right wayevery time. Relevant Experience Candidates with experience in the following roles or environments often excel in this position due to the structured detail-oriented nature of the work: - Merchandising planogram resets fixture setups or visual merchandising requiring precision and consistency
- Manufacturing or Assembly especially in electronics medical devices or kitting environments
- Quality Control or Inspection performing visual inspections audits or compliance reviews
- Data Entry or Order Processing roles requiring high accuracy and strict adherence to procedures
- Inventory or Materials Handling experience with part numbers labeling and cycle counts
- Print or Labeling Operations including packaging lines labeling machines or documentation-heavy roles
- Military Logistics or Veterans with supply/armory experience especially those familiar with government or shipboard operations
- Shipping/Receiving in Regulated Industries including aerospace defense medical or electronics sectors

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Package products in accordance with MIL-STD-2073 and individual contract specifications.
- Carefully review contract documents and work orders to determine exact packaging requirements.
- Apply proper labeling barcoding and documentation to support government traceability and inspection standards.
- Handle a variety of items from small electrical components to larger industrial parts.
- Ensure each package meets preservation packing and marking criteria to protect items during shipment and storage.
- Conduct visual inspections and verify readiness of parts for packaging.
- Maintain an organized clean and safety-conscious work environment.
- Collaborate with shipping/receiving teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Communicate any inconsistencies or issues to the appropriate internal departments.

- Prior RPO (Repair Petty Officer) Unit Armorer Collateral Duty Inspectors
- Military supply rates/designations
- 12 years of experience in packaging fulfillment or shipping preferred; government/military packaging experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-2073 military packaging standards or DoD logistics is a strong plus.
- Forklift or reach truck experience.
