Applied Materials is seeking a European Regional Category & Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing for both Workplace Facilities and Technical Facilities across our European footprint with a primary base in Treviso Italy. This role is instrumental in enabling our semiconductor R&D and advanced manufacturing operations through optimized sourcing of services consumables infrastructure and capital equipment.
This individual will develop and execute regional category strategies spanning both corporate workplace operations and highly specialized lab and cleanroom environments. The ideal candidate combines deep procurement expertise with strong technical acumen and stakeholder engagement capabilities. This individual will be critical in managing business relationships across Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Facilities (Cleanroom & Lab Operations):
Lead sourcing strategy and supplier management for:
o Consumables: PPE smocks shoe covers lab equipment chemicals and gases
o CapEx & Infrastructure: exhaust systems abatement equipment HVAC units specialty blowers
o Technical Services: hazardous waste disposal equipment maintenance and tool installation support
o Semiconductor R&D Tools: capital procurement of metrology and process tools
Coordinate closely with facilities management engineering EH&S and site operations teams to support cleanroom performance and tool install readiness
Manage complex technical RFPs and long-cycle capital contracting efforts
Workplace Facilities (Corporate Office Operations):
Own category strategy for sourcing and managing:
o Facilities services: janitorial waste management landscaping office maintenance
o Soft services: food services reception mailroom security and space planning vendors
o Office supplies & equipment including furniture and breakroom items
Partner with global workplace leads and site teams to align on standards service levels and supplier performance
Drive cost optimization supplier consolidation and contract harmonization across countries
General Responsibilities:
Act as the strategic procurement partner to key regional stakeholders across Workplace Technical Operations Facilities Engineering and Capital Projects
Execute regional RFPs and related contracts develop total cost of ownership models and negotiate best-in-class agreements
Monitor and manage supplier performance SLAs and compliance with environmental and safety standards
Collaborate with global category managers to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide sourcing strategies
Support sustainability initiatives innovation sourcing and value creation projects
Manage and oversee the operationalization / implementation of the contracts and suppliers onboarding etc within our procurement operations teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering Facilities Management Supply Chain or related technical field; Masters degree preferred
7 years of procurement or category management experience with a blend of workplace and technical facilities sourcing
Proven experience supporting semiconductor or high-tech environments strongly preferred
Strong technical understanding of capex equipment tool installation lab operations and facilities systems
Knowledge of workplace services and supplier markets across Europe
Fluent in English; proficiency in Italian is a strong advantage
Excellent communication cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience leading complex RFPs negotiating high-value contracts and managing suppliers across multiple countries
