RN Progressive Care Unit (Permanent Role) Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 03:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Essential Functions of the Role: - Conduct detailed clinical assessments to identify and prioritize patient and family needs.
- Develop implement and evaluate patient-centered care plans to achieve health goals.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families while demonstrating professionalism.
- Educate patients families and community members to promote better health decision-making.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize care delivery.
- Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and follow up to ensure proper care.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving in patient care situations.
- Ensure care delivery aligns with safety efficiency and best practice standards.
- Promote teamwork recognize team contributions and support peer development.
- Maintain commitment to continuing education and community service.
Key Success Factors: - In-depth knowledge of nursing standards procedures and patient care protocols
- Familiarity with state and federal laws and guidelines governing nursing practice
- Understanding of hospital policies and clinical workflows
- Strong grasp of medical terminology medications disease management and prevention
- Adherence to ethical principles and patient confidentiality
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer systems including EMR/EHR Microsoft Office email and scheduling tools
Required Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire)
- 1 year of RN experience in an acute care or progressive care (PCU/step-down) setting
