Job Description

RN Progressive Care Unit (Permanent Role)

Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 03:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Essential Functions of the Role:
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments to identify and prioritize patient and family needs.
  • Develop implement and evaluate patient-centered care plans to achieve health goals.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families while demonstrating professionalism.
  • Educate patients families and community members to promote better health decision-making.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize care delivery.
  • Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and follow up to ensure proper care.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving in patient care situations.
  • Ensure care delivery aligns with safety efficiency and best practice standards.
  • Promote teamwork recognize team contributions and support peer development.
  • Maintain commitment to continuing education and community service.
Key Success Factors:
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing standards procedures and patient care protocols
  • Familiarity with state and federal laws and guidelines governing nursing practice
  • Understanding of hospital policies and clinical workflows
  • Strong grasp of medical terminology medications disease management and prevention
  • Adherence to ethical principles and patient confidentiality
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems including EMR/EHR Microsoft Office email and scheduling tools
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • 1 year of RN experience in an acute care or progressive care (PCU/step-down) setting
