Job Description
To provide expert guidance and support on rice cultivation practices ensuring maximum yield sustainability and cost-efficiency across all rice-growing areas. This role includes planning monitoring and evaluating the entire rice production cycle from land preparation to post-harvest.
Tasks
1. Crop Planning & Cultivation
Develop and implement seasonal rice cultivation plans.
Recommend appropriate rice varieties for different soil types and climatic conditions.
Optimize seeding methods (direct seeding or transplanting) based on field needs.
2. Soil & Water Management
Conduct soil testing and advise on soil amendments.
Plan water usage schedules for irrigation and drainage systems.
Ensure sustainable land management practices.
3. Fertilizer & Pest Management
Design fertilization schedules based on soil analysis and crop stage.
Monitor and manage pest disease and weed control (including Integrate Pest Management practices).
Recommend safe and effective pesticide and herbicide usage.
4. Monitoring & Data Collection
Conduct regular field visits to monitor crop health and growth.
Collect data on growth stages plant health pest infestations and weather impact.
Use drone tractor or tech tools to assess field conditions and provide to high standards.
5. Training & Farmer Support
Train field workers or contract farmers on rice cultivation best practices.
Provide clear instructions for land preparation sowing fertilization and harvesting.
Support troubleshooting of on-field issues.
6. Yield Analysis & Reporting
Analyze production results and identify areas for improvement.
Report on yield forecasts and actual output.
Work with logistics team to prepare harvest scheduling.
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Agronomy Agriculture Science or related field.
35 years of hands-on experience with rice cultivation preferred.
Strong understanding of paddy field management pest control and irrigation.
Familiarity with modern farming tools and agri-tech is a plus.
Good communication and training skills for working with farmers and field workers.
Able to work in rural areas and travel frequently to rice fields.
