Job Description
This role is for a Certified Operating Room Technician at a Level II trauma center. The technician will float between units and provide surgical technical support across various surgical specialties including orthopedics neurology vascular general surgery and urology. The position requires on-call responsibilities and 12-hour shifts with a flexible schedule between day and evening shifts. Prior experience in multiple surgical specialties is essential.
- Assisting surgeons and other surgical team members with surgical instrumentation and equipment.
- Preparing and maintaining the operating room environment.
- Sterilizing and handling surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Participating in on-call rotation.
- Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Strong experience in orthopedic neuro vascular general and urology surgical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including days and evenings.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
- Experience with a variety of surgical techniques and equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of surgical instrumentation and techniques.
- Weekend work required.
- 12-hour shifts with no day shift scheduled after an evening shift.
- Work in a Level II trauma center.
- First-time travelers will be considered but specific experience requirements are non-negotiable.
- Day shift starts at 6:30 AM evening shift starts at 10:30 PM.
- On-call rotation every 8th weekend and 2-3 weeknights per month.
- No block scheduling.
- Shift assignments are flexible but will be determined by the manager.
