Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager Data Analytics you will lead the design and build of data products which collect manage and convert raw business data into information to inform insights that support decision making and drive actionable outcomes within the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and deliver on their data related requirements and initiatives.
- Lead the Identification Design and Implementation of internal process improvements and efficiencies.
- Create and maintain data pipeline architecture for in-scope data sources bridging both the Data Lake and Enterprise Data Warehouse Data Mart.
- Acquiring ingesting transforming and deploying data models and datasets that meet functional and analytical business requirements.
- Ensure data pipeline availability and scalability through monitoring and issue resolution.
- Participate in the design and implementation of Data-Ops enabling technologies and design methodologies including version control CI/CD Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines and automation of test plans.
- Support and apply cost efficiencies associated with data management platforms and practices.
- Contribute to the application of Governance Principles inclusive of Data Security and Privacy classification and enforcement application of Data Quality Rules Metadata Management Data Classification and Technical Data Element Definitions.
- Possess a passion for building automated fault tolerant and reliable data solutions maintaining a high level of currency.
Qualifications :
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. business information systems or technology computer science) or a minimum of 5 years of commercial experience.
- Working Experience in both Azure Cloud Snowflake DBT and Fivetran inclusive of a role-based certification track in Data Engineering or Snow Pro Certification.
- A naturally inquisitive and analytical mind and strong ability to problem solve and work autonomously.
- Storage modelling and retrieval of the three (3) types of data: Structure Semi-Structured and Unstructured Data.
- Design Implementation and Maintenance of Data Warehousing and Data Lake Solutions within a Snowflake Environment.
- Mastery in scripting with SQL and Python. Expertise in engineering within DBT is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture best practices and making decisions to drive process and computational efficiencies.
- Demonstrated proficiency and execution in ELT (Extract Load and Transform) technologies.
- Experience in data automation and orchestration platforms such as Stonebranch inclusive of monitoring and messaging throughout the data pipeline.
- Enablement and configuration of Log Mining and Change Data Capture technologies like Fivetran.
- Design and Development of APIs for both the acquisition of data and facilitation of an End Point to defined data schemas.
