Job Description

The House of Commons Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is currently looking to staff the Supervisor Parliamentary Access position.

This recruitment and selection process is restricted to employees of the House of Commons and the parliamentary partners (the Senate the Library of Parliament the Parliamentary Protective Service the Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner and the Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer).

The Supervisor Parliamentary Access is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Visitor Registration Program. This includes coordinating operations and ensuring service excellence for Members and visitors as well as the supervision of both full-time and part-time staff. As this is a new program you will develop policies and procedures to help maintain and improve the initiatives efficiency and addition as the Supervisor you act as the first point of contact if issues arise helping solve problems and ensure service standards are met.

Qualifications :

Education:

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in a field related to security or an acceptable combination of education training and relevant experience.

Experiences:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in managing client services and working with executive clients;
  • Experience collaborating and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience in the creation of policy and procedure;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (notably strong experience with Microsoft Excel);
  • Experience in supervising coaching and/or mentoring staff.

Assets:

  • Knowledge of the House of Commons and parliamentary precinct;
  • Experience in maintaining shift schedules and managing employees.
