As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology you play a vital role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing building and delivering reliable market-leading technology products that are secure stable and scalable. As a key technical contributor you will be responsible for implementing essential technology solutions across diverse technical domains supporting various business functions to achieve the firms strategic goals.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
- Minimum of 8 years of total experience with significant experience in software architecture
- Ability to be hands-on with development tasks (70% of the time) while leading and mentoring a team of developers (30% of the time).
- Proficiency in Java for backend development.
- Experience with AWS services for cloud computing and deployment.
- Frontend development skills with React or Angular.
- Experience with relational databases(Postgres Oracle Aurora etc.)
- Strong understanding and experience in designing developing and deploying microservices.
- Ability to work closely with architects on both high-level and low-level design aspects.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as EC2 SQS ECS/EKS S3.
- Experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch for search and analytics capabilities.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills:
- Terraform
- Experience with No-SQL databases
- Knowledge in leveraging AI tools like Codeium and Copilot to enhance development efficiency and productivity.
