Hybrid working with up to 4 days per week working from home

Salford Quays Manchester or Kirkstall Forge Leeds

Permanent

Salary 52K - 65K per annum

As our Supplier Relationship Manager youll play a pivotal role in supporting our health services by maximising the in-contract relationship from Bupas strategic suppliers. Key activity includes managing the supplier within Bupas Supplier Management Framework ensuring compliance to Bupa regulatory obligations reducing contract cost and extracting value and building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to obtain optimum performance from the supplier.

How youll help us make health happen:

The job holder will be accountable for the following activities for a number of selected key Bupa suppliers:

  • Onboarding suppliers post contract award managing suppliers against the Supplier Management Framework and building and maintaining ongoing relationships with suppliers.

  • Leading regular governance review meetings with strategic suppliers to review supplier performance against contract including SLA performance cost reductions continuous improvement opportunities and quality of service.

  • Owning and managing supplier risk profile to manage and mitigate supply chain risks reducing the risk of financial or reputational damage. Undertaking due diligence and assurance reviews with suppliers. Resolution of operational and service incidents ensuring that root cause analysis is undertaken and processes are amended/implemented where appropriate.

  • Driving the strategy of the category collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive innovation efficiencies business development opportunities and generating additional value to both parties ensuring Bupa is a customer of choice.

  • Leading internal reviews with key stakeholders to identify business needs and tangible service improvements and translating them into relationship development plans with suppliers.

  • Developing and maintaining plans to prioritise and implement continuous improvement in terms of service cost risk and flexibility

  • Instigating and developing action plans to remedy poor supplier performance and managing these plans through to successful conclusion. Ensure smooth implementation of service improvement projects and successful handover to operational business stakeholders.

  • Leading market scanning and benchmarking to monitor the direction of the supply market ensure competitiveness of the supply base and shaping the strategy of the category.

  • Providing regular Management Information reports and updates to the business stakeholders and when applicable to the Accountable Executive.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Experience in contract supplier management

  • Experience in managing supplier against the requirements set out in the FCA (SYSC 8/13) and PRA rulebook.

  • Experience in either an supplier assurance and audit

  • Knowledge of working with and managing outsourced Service Providers.

  • A good knowledge of supply chain processes and the tools and techniques that can be used to improve them.

  • Professional Procurement or Risk Management qualifications

  • Good understanding of risk management frameworks and compliance activities

  • Knowledge and experience of contract terms and conditions with an emphasis on drafting schedules

  • Strong commercial awareness with a demonstrable record of value based delivery

  • Ability to understand and communicate risk posture possible impact on business functions and paths for remediation

  • Analysis problem solving and decision making skills

  • Ability to communicate complex topics in efficient and effective manner.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all stages of organisation

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships at all levels

  • Practical understanding of relevant regulatory environment
