Job Duties:

The UW-Madison Physician Assistant Program is seeking an Academic Program Specialist to support faculty and students in their didactic year of learning. This position contributes to the development implementation administration coordination and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming equitable and inclusive work environment.

This position requires work to be completed onsite at a designated campus work
location.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies program needs contributes to the development of unit workflows schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings events and interviews
  • Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
  • Utilizes independent judgement regarding development implementation promotion and evaluation for one or more academic programs initiatives or events

The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) in the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) supports SMPH by overseeing all aspects of various health professions education programs: from admissions programs and curricular oversight to student services and multicultural initiatives across our statewide campus. It also is responsible for successfully meeting all national accreditation requirements as well as timely compliance with all health system school campus and legislative policies and regulations. The OAA fosters a professional atmosphere to prepare health care providers and public health professionals at all stages of career development.

The mission of the University of WisconsinMadison Physician Assistant (PA) program is to educate health care professionals committed to the delivery of comprehensive preventative and therapeutic health care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner with an emphasis on primary health care for populations and regions in need.
( starting salary for the position is $50112; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
