About the role:
The Lead Animal Attendant is responsible for assisting the Animal Attendant Team Leaders in the coordination and Management of day-to-day animal care activities such as feeding cleaning and enrichment. The Lead Animal Attendant acts as second-in-charge to the Team Leaders and in addition to regular animal care duties will assist with rostering troubleshoot any issues that arise oversee the quality of work and suggest changes to improve standards of care and cleanliness.
The role will also provide training guidance and general feedback to Animal Attendants and volunteers across all areas of the role and will foster exceptional working relationships with other LDH departments (e.g. Pathways Veterinary Services). As a senior member of the Animal Attendant Team the role will be expected to act as a role model both behaviourally and in regards to standard of work performed and will champion LDHs values (compassion respect ethical teamwork and accountability) at all times.
