Principles of Operation:
A FamilySearch events manager is responsible for creating a worldclass experience for attendees and participants across the globe both in-person and online. They support the strategic objectives of FamilySearch International by leading planning and executing small to large scale international events including RootsTech the largest family history event in the world. RootsTech is an annual full-scale conference that attracts 15000 - 30000 in-person attendees in Salt Lake City and garners millions of participants from over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Must be able to work onsite (Salt Lake City) at least four days a week one day at home (subject to change).
Lead and develop experiences that support the objectives and goals of FamilySearch International.
Oversee plan and execute outreach efforts with key stakeholders worldwide.
Ensure strategic and effective use of event funds and timely execution and delivery of key conference deliverables.
Direct strategic planning around key partners and stakeholder engagement in alignment with FamilySearch Internationals needs.
Employ data-driven business decision-making to align FamilySearch Internationals goals and objectives with effective customer and industry friend journeys.
Manage empower and build the capabilities of an internal team of event staff
8yearsofexperienceincorporate/professional event management preferably in strategic logistical and production aspects.
Bachelors degreerequired masters degree preferred preferablyin management marketing communicationsevent management or creative production.
Proven success in leading the development of strategic experiences (live and online events exhibits expo halls etc.) that have led to results (e.g. change in consumer behavior meeting meaningful goals etc.).
Ability to negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party agencies and event partners.
A high level of integrityprofessionalismautonomy and self-motivation.
Excellent project/program management and time management skills.
Exceptional ability to communicateboth verbally and in writingwith a high degree of professionalism and ability to manage expectations both internally and externally at all levels of the organization.
Excellent problem solver proactivelypre-empts andseeks outsolutions to challenges.
Second language preferable.
