Description
The Regulatory Engagement and Development and Broker-Dealer Compliance team oversees BlackRocks registered personnels compliance with applicable laws rules and requirements including those of FINRA NFA MSRB and state securities investment adviser and insurance regulators. The team is also responsible for engaging with BlackRocks regulators across the Americas region including examinations and inquiries and providing management information related to such engagements for various internal and external reporting requirements.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate capable of functioning in an efficient detail-oriented and proactive manner in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be extremely motivated eager to learn a team player resourceful organized communicative and able to leverage the managers time by proactively completing tasks independently with integrity and strong attention to detail.
The focus of the Compliance Associate will be providing support in the overall maintenance and ongoing enhancement of a robust compliance program for BlackRocks Broker-Dealer Regulatory Engagement and Development and NFA compliance programs and other ad-hoc compliance projects.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assist senior compliance managers with regulatory engagements including on-site exam coordination document production and maintenance and reporting of related management information
- Monitor BlackRock registered personnels activities including new hire registrations personal status changes and internal transfers ensuring filings are processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Understand and manage licensing & registrations systems (i.e. FINRA Gateway NFA ORS) background and fingerprint screening processes and their downstream impact
- Prepare and submit required regulatory forms for registering or terminating personnel in accordance with FINRA SEC MSRB NFA and State laws rules and requirements
- Respond to escalated internal inquiries and resolve registration issues with regulators including state agencies
- Prepare and maintain reporting records for business registered representatives and management oversight committees in various platforms
- Completing testing of BlackRock regulated entities under the Annual FINRA 3120/3130 and branch office testing programs
- Assist with maintenance and implementation of the Firms policies & procedures related to Broker Dealer policies Training Materials and Certifications
- Various on-going initiatives and ad-hoc projects as needed
Skills/Requirements:
- BS/BA degree required
- 3-5 years experience in regulatory compliance legal or regulatory functions
- Solutions-driven confident and highly motivated.
- Excellent organizational project management strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Team player capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and producing work with impeccable integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to observe the highest degree of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with business operations human resources and corporate security; comfortable communicating with all levels of staff.
- Working knowledge of financial services industry regulations including registration requirements under FINRA SEC NFA MSRB and/or state rules is a plus.
- Experience with FINRAs WebCRD and NFAs ORS registration systems is a plus.
- Strong technical proficiency in Windows applications (e.g. Excel Word PowerPoint).
Recommended but not required:
The ability to obtain the SIE S7 and S24 within two years of employment.
For Princeton NJ Only the salary range for this position is USD$90000.00 - USD$120000.00 . Additionally employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including healthcare leave benefits and retirement benefits.
