Description of the role: The Assistant Parts Manager will work closely with the Parts Manager to oversee department operations inventory management and customer service.   • Inventory Management:
    Assisting in maintaining accurate inventory levels ordering parts and managing stock to ensure availability for both service and retail customers.
  • Customer Service:
    Providing excellent service to both retail and wholesale customers assisting with parts selection quotes and order fulfillment.
  • Staff Supervision:
    Training mentoring and supervising parts department staff including Parts Representatives ensuring they are knowledgeable and efficient.
  • Sales and Profitability:
    Assisting with setting pricing strategies tracking sales costs and inventory and contributing to the departments profitability.
  • Department Organization:
    Maintaining a clean organized and efficient parts department including proper storage and stocking of parts.
  • Communication:
    Interacting with service technicians shop foremen and other dealership staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Reporting:
    Providing regular updates on inventory sales and other key performance indicators to the Parts Manager.
  • Compliance:
    Ensuring compliance with dealership policies and procedures as well as relevant federal state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

    • Work with route drivers and ensure timely deliveries.
    • Meet and assist the customer in a courteous and professional manner providing them with the information they need
    • Answer telephone calls promptly and provide professional service ensuring the customers needs are met
    • Ensure that incoming inventory is stocked in the correct location
    • Maintain the parts department in a clean and organized manner
    • Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and keep the computer system up to date
    • Informing customers of any current specials
    • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Companys Values in all interactions with customers co-workers and vendors

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role preferably in an automotive service department.
