Job Description
Position: Route Supervisor
Location: Visalia CA
Department: Operations
The Route Supervisor is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing drivers and helpers to ensure safe efficient and timely completion of routes. As the primary link between field operations and management this role drives performance enforces safety protocols and fosters a high-performing team culture.
Key Responsibilities-
Team Leadership: Supervise and support drivers and helpers to ensure timely and safe route completion.

Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies conduct routine safety meetings and ensure DOT compliance.

Training & Onboarding: Lead orientation programs deliver training sessions and conduct road tests for new drivers.

Route Optimization: Analyze and enhance routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Performance Oversight: Approve timecards assist with evaluations coach team members and support disciplinary actions when necessary.

Operational Support: Maintain real-time communication with drivers and provide driving support as needed.

Customer Service: Address service issues and customer complaints with professionalism and urgency.

Special Projects: Support community cleanups parades and other events as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: 3 years of route delivery experience (supervisory experience preferred)

License: Valid Class A or B CDL

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of DOT regulations

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)

Experience with ADP systems

Strong verbal and written communication

Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills

Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent professional experience

Industry Experience: Supervisory background in solid waste management logistics or transportation
