Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled EDI Engineer to support and scale our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) infrastructure across a complex multi-channel retail and supply chain ecosystem. This role is essential for enabling seamless accurate and secure data exchanges with retail logistics and manufacturing partners.

You will be responsible for EDI mapping partner onboarding system integration and transaction monitoring-ensuring timely compliant and high-quality digital operations across our value chain.

Key Responsibilities

EDI Transaction Management

  • Build and maintain EDI transaction maps for documents such as 850 (PO) 810 (Invoice) 856 (ASN) 940/945 (Warehouse Orders) and 997 (Acknowledgement)

  • Troubleshoot failed transmissions mapping errors rejections and anomalies across various platforms

  • Ensure optimal processing speed data accuracy and transaction-level reliability

Integration & Systems

  • Manage EDI integrations with enterprise platforms like Oracle ERP Koerber OMS WMS and BeProduct PLM

  • Onboard new trading partners by defining transaction specs conducting UAT and setting up communication protocols (FTP AS2 APIs)

  • Collaborate with middleware and VAN providers (e.g. SPS Commerce OpenText) to support compliant and scalable document exchange

Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain clear documentation for EDI specs mappings partner requirements and integration logic

  • Ensure compliance with X12/EDIFACT standards and major retailer guidelines

  • Conduct RCA (root cause analysis) and implement data quality improvements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the EDI technical lead for internal teams (Sales Ops Order Management Logistics Compliance)

  • Work directly with trading partners and vendors to resolve issues and align on specifications

  • Support exception handling workflows and communication during critical events

Must-Have Skills

  • 3 5 years of hands-on EDI development or operations experience in a retail wholesale or supply chain environment

  • Strong understanding of ANSI X12 and/or EDIFACT standards

  • Experience with EDI mapping tools (Altova MapForce IBM Sterling Liaison etc.

  • Familiarity with scripting or automation (e.g. Python Bash SQL)

  • Working knowledge of EDI portals used by major retailers (Walmart Macys Kohls etc.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with apparel fashion or consumer goods business models

  • Understanding of OMS/WMS/ERP workflows and data touchpoints

  • Familiarity with middleware/API gateways and real-time integration protocols

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and data integrity

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for working across technical and business teams
