Job Description

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a Middle School SPED Aide.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Competency in using technology.
- Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
- An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Maintaining all special education documentation and timelines for case conferences in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Ensuring the delivery of services outlined in individual education plans for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Encourage parent and community involvement obtain information for parents when requested schedule case conferences promptly return phone calls and answer emails and establish ongoing communication with parents.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Participate in appropriate professional activities
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
- Other duties assigned.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective performance of the schools.
