Job Description

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a Middle School SPED Aide.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Competency in using technology.
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Maintaining all special education documentation and timelines for case conferences in accordance with state and federal requirements.
  • Ensuring the delivery of services outlined in individual education plans for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Encourage parent and community involvement obtain information for parents when requested schedule case conferences promptly return phone calls and answer emails and establish ongoing communication with parents.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
  • Other duties assigned.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective performance of the schools.

Requirements
