We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Remote Accessibility Consultant who shares our vision to join our team and help us achieve our accessibility goals.
Your role as a Remote Accessibility Consultant is pivotal in ensuring our digital platforms meet accessibility standards and best practices. Your assessments and recommendations along with your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be instrumental in implementing accessible design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of web and mobile applications evaluating compliance with WCAG 2.1 and other relevant standards.
2- Provide detailed reports that outline findings recommendations and prioritized action items for improvement.
3- Collaborate with designers developers and product managers to integrate accessibility into the design and development processes.
4- Offer training and workshops on accessibility best practices to team members and stakeholders.
5- We are committed to staying up-to-date with the latest accessibility guidelines trends and technologies to enhance our practices continually. As a Remote Accessibility Consultant you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of these advancements contributing to our shared goal of creating inclusive digital experiences.
6- Assist in creating accessibility documentation and resources for ongoing training and reference.
Qualifications:
1- Proven experience in accessibility consulting auditing or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
2- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 ADA and other accessibility regulations and guidelines.
3- Familiarity with a variety of tools for accessibility testing such as Axe Lighthouse or JAWS.
4- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
5- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and a track record of successfully implementing accessibility solutions.
6- A passion for creating inclusive digital experiences and a commitment to continuous learning in the field of accessibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
1- Certification from a recognized accessibility organization (e.g. CPACC WAS).
2- Experience with assistive technologies and user testing with individuals with disabilities.
3- Background in UX/UI design or front-end development.
