Role Summary:
Flowserve is currently looking for a Welding this role you will be in charge of coordinating and managing the Welding inspection compliance ensuring the quality and safety of welded parts in adherence to standards to prevent defects and ensure the integrity of welded components. You will requires additional understanding the general and technical requirements of welding process
The role involves to understand fabrication drawings inspecting welding materials Welding inspection parameters dimension & visual inspection and ensure the highest quality and efficiency in welding projects. Operational Excellence & High Level of Customer Service Standard.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
1. Pre-Welding Inspection:
1.1 Review Regulations and Standards: Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations codes and industry standards.
1.2 Fabrication Drawings: Verify that fabrication drawings and specifications are accurate and complete.
1.3 Materials and Equipment:
a. Inspect welding materials and equipment to ensure they meet required standards and specifications.
b. Supervise base material preparation electrode storage and welding operations before welding.
c. Cross verify calibration certificates of the all welding inspection tools and equipment.
2. During Welding Inspection:
2.1 Monitor Welding Parameters: Ensure welding parameters like voltage amperage travel speed and heat input as per applicable WPS.
2.2 Visual Inspection: Inspect the root penetration bead size and overall quality of the weld.
2.3 Compliance Checks: Ensure that welding procedures are being followed and that welders are qualified for the tasks they are performing.
2.4 Support Weld repair process
3. Post-Welding Inspection:
3.1 Non-Destructive Testing: Conduct non-destructive tests (NDT) such as ultrasonic testing radiographic testing magnetic particle testing and dye penetrant testing.
3.2 Visual and Dimensional Inspection:
a. Verify that the welds meet visual and dimensional requirements.
b. weld seams to ensure they are free of cracks porosity and other defects.
3.3 Defect Identification: Identify any defects or discontinuities in the weld and determine if repairs are necessary.
4. Documentation:
4.1 Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of inspections welding procedures material traceability and any repairs or rework performed.
4.2 Inspection Reports: Prepare and submit inspection reports summarizing findings compliance and any recommended actions.
4.3 Inspection Reports: Documenting inspection findings and reporting any non-conformities and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
5. Quality Assurance:
5.1 Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS): Ensure that the WPS are being followed correctly.
5.2 Welder Qualifications: Verify that welders have the necessary qualifications and certifications.
5.3 Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding quality and efficiency.
5.4 Support in Conduct welding procedure qualification tests (PQR) and prepare welding procedure specifications (WPS)
5.5 Review Supplier WPS PQR and provide necessary support for approval and submitting the same to customer for approval as required.
5.6 Support for Auditing Supplier Fabrication shop and improve their Quality performance
6. Communication:
6.1 Team Collaboration: Work closely with production welding engineers project managers and other team members to ensure successful project execution.
6.2 Feedback: Provide feedback to welders and other personnel regarding welding quality and areas for improvement.
