The Role

- Delivering high-quality fluid analysisto support a wide range of projects ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Authoring technical documentationthat provides robust customer-facing qualification evidence for complex systems.
- Driving innovationby contributing to the evolution of our fluid analysis methodologies enhancing both accuracy and efficiency.
- Pushing technical boundariesby developing and applying advanced techniques such as compressible and multiphase CFD analysis to meet emerging customer needs.
Youll be part of a collaborative forward-thinking team that values curiosity precision and continuous improvement. Whether youre refining existing models or exploring new simulation techniques your work will have real-world impact on the systems that keep our naval forces mission-ready.
This role is full time 37 hours per week and provides hybrid/remote working arrangements.
Essential Experience of the Fluid Analyst
- Experience in fluid analysis in a high integrity environment.
- Understanding of first principle fluid dynamics.
- Experience using Computational Fluid Dynamics (Babcock use Fluent and CFX) 1D modelling (Babcock use Python Matlab and AMESim).
- Experience / awareness of transient 2D and 3D analysis.
Qualifications for the Fluid Analyst
- Mechanical Degree or HND or HNC in an Engineering Discipline with demonstrable experience and capability.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. However the successful candidate must obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance once in post.
