Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you a passionate and experienced string educator looking to lead and inspire the next generation of musicians We are seeking a dynamic Head of Strings to join our leading music department.
There is a longstanding tradition of music-making at Camberwell Grammar School and it plays an integral part in our school life. We encourage all students to learn a musical instrument and performance opportunities are available in our symphony and string orchestras concert and stage bands various chamber ensembles and school choirs.
The string department comprises a variety of string ensembles from beginner groups to advanced string orchestras and string sections in the Schools orchestras. The string department includes the violin viola cello and double bass.
You will be responsible for leading our strings program across Years 1 to 12 developing and mentoring our teachers coordinating and conducting string ensembles and orchestras overseeing instrumental programs and supporting curriculum delivery. You will also teach individual instrumental lessons from beginner to the most advanced.
This is a full time permanent position commencing in Term 1 2026.
