Job Description
The App Store Connect team is seeking a skilled Backend Java Engineer to design develop and maintain robust scalable and high-performance server-side systems. These critical services empower millions of developers worldwide to manage submit and distribute their apps across Apples Responsibilities:Design develop and implement high-quality scalable backend services and APIs using Java and related clean maintainable and well-tested code contributing to a high standard of engineering with multi-functional teams including product managers designers and other engineering teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications and deliver end-to-end to the technical design and architecture of new features and system enhancements ensuring alignment with overall platform with large datasets and sophisticated data models enhancing and maintaining core domain models and business logic that power developer and debug sophisticated production issues ensuring system stability reliability and optimal in code reviews to maintain high code quality share knowledge and foster a collaborative development optimize existing services for performance efficiency and scalability to meet growing this sound like you Join our team!
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience
- 3 years of professional experience in designing developing and supporting highly scalable high-performance backend applications.
- Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming with a deep knowledge of core Java concepts concurrency and multithreading.
- Demonstrated experience with server-side development including an understanding of HTTP protocols and crafting/implementing RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. Cassandra Solr Kafka etc.) and distributed systems concepts.
- Solid grasp of data structures algorithms and their application in building efficient and scalable software.
- Proven track record with writing clean well-tested and maintainable code with experience in unit integration and performance testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative cross-functional team environment.
- Experience with distributed systems large-scale data processing and messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka Cassandra Solr).
- Proven track record in contributing to architectural discussions and designing backend systems.
- Expertise in performance tuning profiling and optimizing Java applications and backend services.
- Experience contributing to microservices architectures in a large-scale distributed environment.
- Familiarity with monitoring alerting and solving production systems in a high-traffic environment.
At Apple base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $116800 and $226000 and your base pay will depend on your skills qualifications experience and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple Inc.s discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit award recommendations and can purchase Apple Inc. stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple Inc.s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
