Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Shipper-Packer is responsible for the processing all daily shipping activities and ensures the timely delivery of shipments.
REPORTING TO
Warehouse Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Verifies products prior to packaging and follows packaging instructions.
- Prepares items for shipment including completing shipping notices bills of lading and any other required documents.
- Able to ship international shipments.
- Determines shipping priorities work assignments and shipping methods to meet shipping schedules utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures routes and rates.
- Ensures accuracy completeness and condition of outgoing shipments.
- Packages product according to work instructions.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Strong communicator.
- Solid interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Works well under pressure.
- Computer literate.
- MS Office knowledge.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience with UPS and FedEx shipping software.
- 2-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing shipping or warehouse department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Move/lift/carry up to 35 pounds with assistance from lifting equipment.
- Stand up to 6 hours per day.
- Ability to stoop and bend.
