CAREER OPPORTUNITY
DISTRICT PRINCIPAL - INDIGENOUS EDUCATION & EQUITY
The New Westminster School District is seeking a dynamic and collaborative educational leader to join our team as District Principal Indigenous Education and Equity effective immediately. Report to the Associate Superintendent this role is central to advancing our Districts commitment to Indigenous Education and Equity.
The successful candidate will lead and support a wide range of initiatives aligned with the Districts Strategic Plan including the implementation of Bill 40 and the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) collaboration with the Districts SOGI lead and the advancement of our Diversity Equity Inclusion and Anti-Racism (DEIA) Framework.
This role requires a visionary leader who can foster meaningful relationships with students staff families and community partners to ensure inclusive culturally responsive and equitable learning environments for all.
Serving the community of New Westminster the New Westminster School District provides high quality educational programs to nearly 8000 students in a variety of learning environments. Located in the geographic centre of Metro Vancouver New Westminster is a compact and growing urban centre with all the benefits of both city and small-town life and ready access to a rich array of recreational and cultural pursuits high quality public services and the neighborly feel of a small community. The total population is approximately 82000 and expected to grow to 104 000 by 2041. District schools are in general fully subscribed and a steady increase in student enrolment is expected over the next ten years.
