Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care activities including vital signs EKGs phlebotomy point-of-care testing and clinical prep
- Assist providers during routine procedures and exams
- Triage patients and support complex care coordination with sensitivity and precision
- Facilitate patient flow and clinic operations by preparing charts confirming referrals and communicating updates
- Perform administrative tasks such as check-in scheduling and insurance verification as needed
- Accurately document patient interactions and updates in the electronic medical record (Epic)
- Communicate with patients and families clearly respectfully and compassionately in person and over the phone
- Ensure exam rooms are cleaned stocked and ready for use at all times
What You Bring
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One of the following:
- Medical Assistant (MA) certificate or diploma
- EMT CNA or LNA certification
- At least 5 months of direct patient care experience in a clinical or research setting (including nursing or medical students with completed clinical rotation)
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort using web-based systems and EMRs
Preferred:
- Phlebotomy certificate
- Experience in oncology or complex specialty care
- Familiarity with Epic or similar EMR systems
