Job Description:
The Field Engineering Specialistperforms aircraft servicing inspections troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems in accordance with applicable technical data. Tows and positions aircraft. Flies with the aircraft to provide off station maintenance support removes and installs aircraft avionics hydraulic components landing gear tires and struts. Performs engine removals and installations. Checks for work correctness. Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action in accordance with applicable aircraft maintenance manuals. Implements preventive maintenance programs documents performance and maintenance records on aircraft and will include lifting bending and climbing. Position will require travel CONUS and OCONUS.
Essential Functions:
Position requires an active DoD Secret security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to maintain all required clearance(s).
Must maintain flight status requirements.
Must be highly skilled with tact and interpersonal communication skills.
Position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Musthave an Airframe & Powerplant License
- Mustbe able to pass FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitudechamber training.
Must have a valid Drivers License.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Boeing 737 / C40 experience very desirable.
- Boeing Aircraft / CFM56 experience very desirable
- Ability to use a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.
Ability to work alone or within a group.
