Position Summary/Objective of job:
The District Manager (DM) is responsible for overseeing the operations within the shops in their district. This leadership role is responsible for operational excellence financial performance people development and alignment with company goals and values. They will work closely with cross-functional support teams including People Operations Marketing and Finance to ensure that shops are performing at a high level both operationally and financially while fostering an engaging guest-centered environment.
Essential Functions:
Provide strong leadership guidance and support to General Managers (GMs) across all district shops.
Develop coach and mentor GMs to ensure their professional growth focusing on leadership operational efficiency guest experience and team management.
Promote a culture of high performance collaboration and employee engagement in line with company values.
Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple shops ensuring they meet company standards in customer experience cleanliness food safety and compliance.
Conduct regular store visits to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure consistent execution of company policies procedures and promotions across all locations.
Take ownership of district P&L with responsibility for achieving profitability targets for each shop; work closely with GMs to achieve financial targets including revenue profitability and cost control.
Analyze sales labor and operational data to identify trends opportunities and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with General Managers to set budgets and performance goals track progress and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
Take proactive measures to address underperformance and celebrate successes with your team.
Act as a bridge between shop-level operations and the support teams to align district goals with the broader company strategy.
Partner with finance and support teams to develop and execute strategies that enhance shop performance.
Work closely with the People Operations team to ensure staffing training and employee relations needs are met across all shops.
Collaborate with Marketing and other departments to drive local campaigns and initiatives that support brand growth in the district.
Provide insights and recommendations on market-specific strategies to drive brand awareness and growth.
Taste/sample a scoop of ice cream daily (including when possible different flavors of ice cream including flavors that might not be the Team Members personal preference) to be able to better communicate to customers why they might enjoy each flavor.
Foster a positive and engaging work environment for direct reports and Team Members by ensuring ongoing open lines of communication inspiring others through your words and actions coaching for improvement and growth and embracing Salt & Straws mission and core values.

To perform the job successfully an individual should have the following qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business administration hospitality restaurant or operations management or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
7 years of experience in food service fast-casual dining or hospitality required.
5 years of multi-unit management experience preferably in the retail or food and beverage industry.
Experience in leading and developing a team of 4 managers in a high-volume retail/restaurant establishment.
Experience managing P&L and driving operational and financial performance.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Desire to coach mentor motivate and manage Team Members with demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment with a hands-on approach.
Ability to travel frequently within the district.
Availability during shop operating hours or after-hours for shop emergencies.
Ability to work successfully independently and remotely.
Must be able to drive shop performance through people management.
Self-directed with organizational and proactive problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with individuals at various levels of the organization.
Proven ability to be flexible and supportive when faced with ever-changing priorities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to bring legendary hospitality into all interactions with team direct reports and guest and vendor relationships.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with other departments to align objectives share resources and drive overall organizational success.
Ability to work with people of all backgrounds and identities.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Fluency in English.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel between shop locations as needed.

Work is performed both in an office environment and in retail sites.
The retail shop work environments are in restricted spaces where spatial awareness is very important.
The work environment is bright and well-lit.
The Team Member may be exposed to extreme temperatures (coolers freezers).
Occasionally strong scents & odors depending on ingredients and cleaning.
Noise-level in the shop can be loud.
