About the role
This role will bring solution architecture capabilities into AEMO. Solution Architects define the digital solutions to achieve business objects and solve business problems. The specific Solution Architect role will be a key in enabling the energy transition in Western Australias Wholesale Energy Market working closely with business owners program and project managers and the implementation team be it a vendor or internal team.
The role focuses primarily on delivering application functions covering all aspects of the solution including functions data infrastructure and cyber security. The role will frequently work with and lead a group of vendor architects in defining solutions.
What you will be doing
Working with business analysts and business subject matter experts to understand business objectives and requirements.
Collaborate with other project teams and other architects in developing fit for purpose solutions.
Develop levels of architecture (Conceptual Architecture Document and Solution Architecture Document) across the desired program of work.
Document current state technical architecture and system landscape ensuring future state architecture is considered and acted upon when required.
Highlight and effectively manage the architectural impacts; including assessments dependencies tools technical requirements issues and risks (with key reference to data and processes) of business problems.
Progress architecture through governance forums to ensure compliance to technical standards and strategic directions.
Delivery of agreed documentation to comply with the AEMO IT and Security Procedures and Policies and Standards.
What you will bring to the role
Understanding of TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) and Architecture Discipline
Experience in developing solutions and associated architecture to meet business objectives including producing necessary architecture artefacts and navigating architecture governance.
Experience working in a dynamic program environment focused on meeting critical deadlines.
A strong ability to communicate architecture to both technical and non-technical audiences at appropriate levels.
